An overview of our activities in July

Limpio Sur Program

Days to enjoy and share with friends came with the winter vacations!
Children from the city of Limpio participated of days full of games, outdoor activities and artistic workshops in the vacation camps in Southern Limpio.
The invitation was open to all children in the areas where the program is carried out and nearby communities.
This program is implemented by means of a partnership between Fundación Alda and the Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC).

Alda Educa Project

The commitment of the whole educational community ensures meaningful learning.
Principals of the schools that are part of the Alda Educa project participated in a training workshop to define strategies that enhance the relationship between family and school. The purpose of the activity was to work in a coordinated manner, for the benefit of the teaching-learning process of children.
The experiences and ideas shared among the directors of the “Alda Schools” enriched the analysis of the importance of promoting family involvement.

Project “My school, my community, my life: protected and free from violence”

Part of the technical and management team of Fundación Alda presented to the Ministry of Women the project “My school, my community, my life: protected and free from violence” and its next communication campaign, which aims to eliminate all forms of violence against girls and women.
The Minister of Women, Nilda Romero Santacruz, was satisfied with the content of the project and confirmed support for the foundation in its actions aimed at preventing violence and promoting the rights of girls and women in vulnerable communities through schools.
This project has been made possible thanks to the support of the European Union.

Joven Adelante Project

We assist our young university students in making decisions that will help them reach their goals.
We held the workshop “My time, my priorities” , which aimed to encourage participants to reflect on their priorities, so that based on them, they could set their objectives.
Their main priority is to finish the university career in the established time. Therefore, at the end of the workshop, the young participants designed a planner that will allow them to organize themselves and achieve their goals.

Paraguay Okakuaa Project

With great joy, children attending the different “Spaces for Growth”, located in 5 districts of the department of Guairá, received their participation certificates, ending in this way a term of interesting activities.
Families shared, with great excitement, the progress seen in each of their children and how Paraguay Okakuaa became for them an opportunity to learn, be protected and enjoy their childhood.
This project is an initiative of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security of Paraguay, funded by the United States Department of Labor and implemented by Partners of the Americas and Fundación Alda as a partnert.

Project Community Service Center- Guarambaré

Through the voluntary support of local leaders, the Cultural Academy continues with its activity season, fulfilling the purpose of motivating the interest and participation of the youngest in the community dynamics.
The workshops are aimed at generating new knoledge, developing capacities and promoting values that contribute to the integral growth of children and teenagers.
Sporting events and activities related to dancing, literature and computing as a tool to learn English were not absent this month.

Volunteering

Because we are convinced that volunteering is the best expression of friendship and the one that has a great impact, this month we remember some of the many wonderful experiences shared with the #FriendsofAlda, people who spend their time, share their knowledge and love in different projects carried out by Fundación Alda.
During the month of friendship, this was our way of recognizing and thanking the value of each contribution, which transforms the lives of children, youth and communities in situations of vulnerability.
